A big improvement is Neumann's DSP-controlled electronics that allow phase-linear crossovers and Automatic Monitor Alignment via the groundbreaking MA 1. All acoustic parameters have also been improved. The new version has even less distortion, lower bass and higher max SPL and even higher resolution. The redesigned cabinet is made from MDF, a stronger and more sustainable material than the aluminum previously used. The woofer has been completely redesigned. The Mathematically Modelled Dispersion (MMD™) waveguide is incorporated into the new cabinet design. Plus, a number of additional improvements, not to mention patent-pending amplifier technology that delivers superior audio performance with Class D power efficiency. The new series also includes AES67 options and is available in anthracite and white finishes.
